Comfort is the enemy of progress

How true is the title above? We see it everywhere we look. We see it in ourselves. The new job gives us a bigger paycheck. We win the award. The new car is in the driveway. The house is more than we need. Sitting on the couch with a bowl of ice cream while watching Netflix is about as comfortable as it gets.

We get comfortable with our success and we pause. Pausing is good, but too much comfort is limiting. Being uncomfortable drives us to do more. It unlocks our motivation (because it truly does come from within), and makes us more prone to be inspired.

What will you do today to remain a little uncomfortable?

  1. I met with a (pre-pay) funeral planner today. That makes me uncomfortable and comfortable!
